Gift options priced the way you sell
Charge for gift wrap, gift boxes, and gift messages per item, per order, or per gift box. Each gift option is a product in your store, with its own price, inventory, and image.
A gift for each item, or one for the whole order
Wrapped has two gift options, each with its own gift product. Run one or both.
- Gifting for Products. Customers add gift options to each product, with a different wrap and price per item, and the fee follows the quantity.
- Gifting for Orders. Customers wrap the whole order as one gift, with one note and one fee. Your pricing rule sets the fee.
- Same item, different gifts. Identical items can carry different gift options, each with its own message.
Offer gift choices in different appearances
Show each choice with its photo, as swatches and pills, or as a menu. Every appearance follows your preset.
- Each choice is a variant. It has its own name, price, stock, and photo on your gift product.
- The right choice for each product. Leave a gift variant off some products, so a small bag shows only on small items, or t-shirts get one wrap price and shoes another.
- Free message, paid wrap. With gift choices optional, customers write a gift message for free and tick to add a paid wrap. Read more in Gift messaging.
Price it the way your store packs it, or make it free
Charge one flat fee for the whole order, or charge for each item or each gift box in it. The fee follows whatever the customer adds.
- Set your own pricing rules. With Gifting for Orders, charge a flat rate per order, or charge per item, per SKU, per quantity, or per gift box. Gift boxes count items or weight and round up, and each box size has its own limit and price.
- Gift discounts. Reward bigger carts with free gifting, add quantity breaks, and treat your VIPs. Set up to three discount levels, each a percentage off the gift product, with 100% making gifting free. Gifting for Orders counts the cart total, and Gifting for Products counts the item quantity.
- No code to enter. Shopify applies the gift discount in the cart and at checkout, and it combines with product, order, and shipping discounts.
Customers see the gift price before they save
The gift price shows on the block, in the cart, and at checkout.
- On the Gift Block. The Gift Block shows the gift's title, price, and description, and the Save button carries the price in the customer's currency.
- Bundled. The gift sits inside its product's line in the cart and at checkout, one line per gifted item.
- Itemized. The gift is its own line, at its price, in the cart and at checkout.
- Discounts in view. A discounted gift shows its original price crossed out, the new price, and the discount title.

What merchants ask about gift pricing
How is the gift fee counted for a whole order?
Gifting for Orders has six pricing rules. Flat rate charges once per order. Per item charges once for each line in the cart, per SKU once for each different variant, and per quantity once for every item. Per gift box charges one box for every set number of items or set weight, rounded up.
What does a customer pay with Gifting for Products?
The gift price once for each item the gift is added to, so a customer who gifts 2 of a product pays 2 gift fees. Identical items can carry different gift options, each with its own message.
Can gift wrap be free?
Yes. Gift discounts take up to 100% off the gift product at a cart total or item quantity you set. With gift choices optional, the gift message is free and customers tick to add a paid wrap. A gift option with no gift product is free.
Do customers need a discount code?
No. Shopify applies the gift discount automatically in the cart and at checkout, under the title you give it. It can be limited to customers with certain tags, and it combines with product, order, and shipping discounts.
Can different products offer different wraps?
Yes. Each gift variant can be left off chosen products, collections, or product tags, so t-shirts get one wrap price and shoes another. On those products the variant is removed from the list, or shown greyed out.
